Use the date as context, then assess the roof
This is a selection of nine National Weather Service tornado records from 1998 through 2015, covering events in or near Moore. It includes paths extending beyond city limits. It is not a current storm feed, a hail archive or a complete list of severe weather affecting Moore.
The record can help you recognize a historical date. It cannot show that your particular roof was struck, establish the age of damage or decide an insurance claim. Current roof condition and address-specific evidence remain separate questions.

A weather record cannot establish damage to your roof
What matters for your roof is what’s on it now. A roof can have been repaired or replaced since any of these storms, sometimes more than once. A roofer reads the actual shingles, flashing and decking, and that tells more than any date can.
The dates are still worth knowing. If your roof went through one of these storms and nobody has looked at it since, that’s a good reason to have it checked. Mention the date when you ask, along with anything you’ve noticed.
Put a recent roof concern in the right hands
An active safety concern
Stay clear of downed lines, unstable structures and sagging ceilings. Do not go onto a damaged roof. Follow official emergency instructions when there is an immediate threat.
A present roof question
A changed roof edge, displaced shingles or water indoors are reasons to request an assessment. The storm and hail roofing page explains what the roof inspection can establish.
A policy or claim question
The insurer decides coverage under the policy. Use the insurance guide to understand how notice, documentation and the roofing scope fit into that process.
